The pale pink of the glass belies the intense aromatics and rich mouthfeel of this rosé. Wild strawberries and peach candy on the nose give way to more berries and stone fruit on the palate, with a bit of blood orange and lime and a lick of quartz on the finish.
A bright, fruity style, this red offers cherry, strawberry, currant, white pepper and mineral flavors. Reveals almond and earth accents as this extends on the finish. Features fine balance and mouthwatering length. Best from 2025 through 2042.
The Löwengang Chardonnay is an icon of Italian Chardonnay and continues to show the dedication of the Lageder estate to producing the highest quality of wines. Aromas of spiced baked apples, Comice pears, candied lemon zest, white flowers and baking spices are present. The wine is rich and broad on the palate with a creamy texture and hints of vanilla and both sweet and savory spices. The wine finishes with the energy and pulse of the mountains, showing both the mineral edge and the important acidity that gives this wine the structure for the long haul.
Col Disôre is a blend of Pinot Bianco, Friulano, Sauvignon Blanc and Ribolla Gialla from the typical ponca flysch soil of Collio, which brings to the wine a marvelous vibrancy and minerality. When the minerality of Collio meets this kind of concentration, the match is great. Subtle toasty aromas with rose and peach skin feature marine influence and bright fern scents. The attack is soft, smooth, dense and rich, supported by elegant lifted acidity. The finish is still oaky, but your patience will be rewarded
This has aromas of olives, black fruit, cracked pepper and dried herbs. Meaty and savory, with firm, chewy tannins. Compact and medium-to full-bodied, with excellent concentration. Sustainable. Better after 2023.
Very ripe, yet discreet and so mineral and punchy, almost like smelling a wet rock. Bone-dry and crisp, yet elegant and textured. Really attractive and subtle with a linear, mineral finish. Delicious now, but will hold, too.
This wine shows its MGA name "Roncaglie" on the front label for the first time. That's because Vietti recently acquired additional land in this cru site. The total holdings now span two hectares of vines. The 2018 Barbaresco Roncaglie Masseria is made as if it were a Barolo (instead of a Barbaresco) and is released one year after its peers. It shows tart fruit and dried cranberry with some mild spice and tarry smoke from two years in large oak casks. Exactly 5,026 bottles were made.
